Y4CM has launched a collaborative urban planning project in Aïn Attig city that aims to involve citizens and various social categories, including women, youth, and people with disabilities, in the planning process. The project seeks to empower citizens and civil society actors by promoting a culture of dialogue and citizen participation and creating spaces for collaboration, mobilization, and civic innovation through digital tools.

Bootcamp of young elected officials and decision-makers First Edition:
“Strategies and policies for sustainable and integrated regional planning”

This bootcamp aim to mobilize young elected officials, partners, on a local sustainable development project, starting from their concerns and by showing that these subjects meet those of sustainable cities and communities: actions on cities and sustainable communities can contribute to the implementation of their objectives and vice versa, their actions can contribute to the achievement of objectives on sustainable cities and communities. This therefore makes it possible to go beyond silos by working on concrete cooperation subjects, and thus to improve the consistency of the project, to expand vision and to consolidate the local partnership (ODD 17), in which the community has a major role.

 

Training & Workshops: “Participatory urban planning within the framework of law 90-12 relating to urbanization”

Through this training, participants will take note of the mechanisms of direct and indirect participation in the development of reconstruction documents within the framework of law 90-12 relating to reconstruction in Morocco and accompanied by specialists, they will read and analyze in this law and the most important modifications which made to this law.

 

Round table: “Participation as an entry point to strengthen urban sustainability”

Through these round tables, the participants will discuss in presence experts and representatives of different stakeholders in the project the mechanisms of direct and indirect participation in the development of urbanization documents which put the notions of viability, equitability, vivability and sustainability at the heart of its requirements.

 

Bootcamp of young elected officials and decision-makers Second Edition:
“Strategies and policies for sustainable and integrated regional planning”

This edition aims to build on the success of the first edition by focusing on strategies and policies for resilient and adaptive cities and communities. The boot camp mobilizes young leaders to work on a local development project that takes into account the challenges of climate change, natural disasters, and other environmental and social risks. Through the boot camp, young leaders gained practical skills and knowledge to become effective agents of change in their communities and contribute to the global agenda of sustainable development.

 

Conference: “The right to a sustainable city and education on the environment.”

The Urban Planning Program for Sustainable Cities was concluded with an academic symposium, which was held at the Faculty of Education Sciences in Rabat on Thursday, November 24, 2022. This scientific meeting focused on “the right to a sustainable city and education on the environment.” The symposium featured the participation of a group of academic events, university professors and the body journalist.
